PETITION for QUEBEC RURAL HIGH-SPEED
There are large portions of the Chateauguay Valley / Suroit in the South-West of Quebec which are still not served by high-speed internet services.
The citizens of the rural zones should NOT be regarded as second-class citizens.
The access to high-speed Internet service is now an essential service directly connected to the social and economic development of these zones.
Note! Those widely marketed home satellite systems are NOT "high-speed"! READ THIS to find out why!
The municipality of Elgin, is making an urgent request to the government of Quebec, under the auspices of the ministère des Affaires municipales et des Régions (MAMR) and the ministère du Développement économique, de l'Innovation et de l'Exportation (MDEIE), to take the steps necessary to set up the infrastructure so that all the citizens of rural zones have access to high-speed Internet service, with comparable service charges to what citizens living in urban areas are now paying. Sincerely,
The Undersigned
